Fang Wanzhi, a girl born in the 1970s from Shenxianding, a remote mountain area in Yuxian County, faced emotional and family upheavals, dropping out of university at 20. She eventually moved to Shenzhen, where she met her close friends Li Juan and Hao Qianqian during her early years as a migrant worker. The trio supported each other through hardships, navigating the rapid development of Shenzhen. They transitioned from labor jobs to foreign trade and eventually launched their own toy brand. Despite setbacks in business and betrayals by Huang Yaodong and Yan Ziwei, Fang Wanzhi persevered, constantly improving herself by attending night school and learning English. She seized the opportunities brought by the reform and opening-up era, striving to rebuild her life repeatedly. Her resilience inspired those around her to find happiness. In her middle age, with her company successfully listed, Fang handed its management over to her team. Accompanied by her adopted daughter Fang Miaomiao and confidant Gao Xiang, she returned to her hometown, Shenxianding, settling down where her journey began.
